The way I remember Uni is a boring presentation of regurgitated information from the prescribed course text. But the Monday lecture was far from this! What I took away from the lecture was how we define "technology" and how do we define the difference between "old and new technologies".
We generally look at technology as advancements with little gadgets, but once things like cave painting and the development of literacy were "new" technologies. This point of view made me think what future generations will think of current technologies that we consider now to be so advanced.
With defining between "old" and "new" technologies the lecture pretty much drew the line at the t.v., so anything invented up to and including the t.v. is considered "old"; and all technologies since the t.v. is considered to be "new". This promoted the thought of what about plasma and LCD t.v.'s and even more recently 3D t.v.
